Leyton Eric Jeter
Today a wonderful man, my Nephew died. He left this world for a much better place & is now in heaven with Jesus. We all miss him, but we thank God that he had received Jesus as his personal Savior and that one day we will see him again. I mainly knew Leyton & got to spend time with him when he was much younger and before he got married & had some beautiful kids. I remember holding him & Randy, one in each arm. I remember Michael always trying to keep up with Leyton & do the same things his two big brothers could do. Leyton was so athletic & active growing up, into models, perhaps somewhat of a dreamer, very outgoing and friendly yet he was quiet too. I wish I had gotten to spend more time with him & know him better as an adult. When we got to visit, we always said we would do this or that (like that he would bring his 4wheelers out and go riding with me), but things like that never seemed to actually happen. Even though most of my close memories of him are from his younger years and some good visits at family things I loved him and miss that I will now never get the chance to do any just fun things with him. Now I will never have the chance to talk and pray with him in this life, but one day we sure will!
Leyton sure loved all his children and was so proud of all of them. He was a good father, son and nephew. Leyton was so proud of each of his children & you could see his face just glow with pride when he talked about each of you. Tristan, Leyton, and Hailey,I am so sorry for your loss of him at such an early age. Your Great Grandfather died on Jan.9, of 1988 & I still miss him at times 19 years later. Leyton will always be with you in your heart. Cherish the memories and great times you have had together. As you go forward in your life look forward to seeing him again someday in heaven and let the memories of him not only sometime bring a tear, but also smiles for the times you did things together & the love you two had.
Norma, Eric, Randy, Michael, Tristan & Tima, Little Leyton, Hailey, & Shannon -
Judy & I are praying for you all.
God has really been impressing on me how important family & friends are and how serious & really important it is for them all to have their life right with Him NOW as there is no guarantee of a tomorrow. God blessed me with the time to get my life turned back around & I feel sad for the wasted years, but also very thankful for whatever time I have left. Leyton's death adds to the urgency I feel for me to make sure my life stays on the right path and that I tell friends & people I care for about Jesus & see them get saved if they are not, or turn from their life of sin to follow God if they have been saved, but are ignoring or fighting against following God's will for their life. We just don't know how much time we have or our friends have. Judy & I have lost four close fairly young friends in the last few years and I realize how short the time may be. I don't know why God chose to take Leyton home right now, but praise God that Leyton is a child of God.
Perhaps Leyton was taken home due to all the physical pain he had been in the last few years or perhaps to use his death to do some great work in the life of those close to him? I have no idea, but I do thank God that he was raised in a Christian home, heard the Word of God and he was saved & that he is now with the Lord, at peace, and free from pain.

Thank you God for forgiving all of us who are Your children & may we serve and honor You.
Thank you God for Leyton and for the time we did have with him! May all of Leyton's friends and any family that don't know You hear Your Word in the next few days and come to know Jesus as their Savior; and spend eternity with You and Leyton.
The bricks in this background are the front of "Grandmother's" house on Bryonwood & I know that now Leyton is also with his Grandparents who lived there & who love him very much too. Give them a hug for me Leyton. I look forward to joining you all as soon as God says my work here is done.

Dearest friends -We are trying to make calls but in the meantime, I'll use this method to let you know what is happening in our lives.
Our oldest son, Leyton (44), died yesterday morning, at home. He had been suffering from serious chronic back pain for a number of years, which had become debilitating and making it impossible to keep a job. His 19 year old daughter, Tristan, had been spending most of the last 3 weeks with him, which had been a wonderful and special time for both of them, and he was looking forward to her coming back yesterday. God had other plans and answered one of his heartfelt prayers, to "wake up one morning and be free of pain."
We appreciate everyone's prayers, and are resting in God's very real and sustaining sovereign grace.
Love, Norma and Eric

Leyton's prayer "to wake up with no more pain" has been answered. Perhaps not the way we would like, but he is truly at peace now.
2 My soul will boast in the LORD;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
3 Glorify the LORD with me;
let us exalt His name together.
4 I sought the LORD, and He answered me;
He delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to Him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him;
He saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him,
and He delivers them.
8 Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.
9 Fear the LORD, you His saints,
for those who fear Him lack nothing.
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.

THE FUNERAL
The service was this afternoon (1-11) and the place was packed with some having to stand outside. Many family & friends were there to remember Leyton and be with his family. The service was well done with some stories and insights given by those that knew him into the wonderful and talented person that was Leyton. Some stories touched your heart and made you shed a tear and others made you laugh. I found myself gaining even more respect for Leyton while listening to the many lives he affected. One of the first things shared were some thoughts about him that Tristan had written down that were just beautiful about him and the relationship they were developing lately, and a true tribute to a wonderful father. There were stories about things he did with Little Leyton and with Hailey. There were stories from his childhood friends of the wonderful memories of Leyton when they were growing up. Some of those were funny and others showed how talented he was with building & repairing things. He built models, worked on and painted cars, built most anything mechanical & later progressed to computer networks and larger working model airplanes.
Most of all there were stories sharing Leyton's love of God and his family. Leyton I miss you but I feel I know you even better now than when you were alive. I wish we had more times just standing in your garage and hearing all about what you & those great kids of yours were doing.
As someone said you "were one of the good ones".

The service was officiated by Leyton’s boyhood friend, Randy Reeves, Executive Pastor at Fellowship of the Woodlands, assisted by family friend, Rev. Charles Martin, Pastor of Pilgrim Hill Baptist Church in Hufsmith, Texas, and a prayer offered by the family pastor, Dr. Jack Arrington of Tomball Bible Church. A large crowd gathered for blessings of friendship after the service, at Tomball Bible Church, and the food prepared by TBC women and other friends was appreciated by all! The incredible outpouring of love and caring from friends and family has ministered to us unbelievably!
Thank you from Leyton's family.

"For God did not send the Son(Jesus) into the world to judge or condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged;he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God" (Jesus). John 3:17-18
